An original mixed media work inspired by the phrase “Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem”, one of the most recited expressions in Islam.
The painting centres on the idea that mercy begins with the name of Allah. The phrase “Bismillah ir-Rahman ir-Raheem” is rendered in deep brown across the composition, referencing the opening of every chapter of the Qur’an (except Surah Tawbah).
Alongside this, the Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Camii) in Istanbul is depicted in gold, set against an expressive layered background. The architecture becomes both subject and symbol, reflecting beauty, history, and remembrance.
